Tackling Child Exploitation: Part 1 Prevent and Prepare Level 3
This is our new two part course which considers child sexual exploitation, child criminal exploitation and county lines. We would strongly recommend that you attend both Part 1 and Part 2 to gain a full understanding of child exploitation and how to work with and support children and young people at risk of any type of exploitation. The events are for all practitioners who work directly with children and young people who may be at risk . Attending both events will provide guidance on how to recognise and respond appropriately to child exploitation, consider the grooming process, and have an understanding of the policies and procedures for tackling child exploitation including advise on how to use the new child exploitation risk assessment tool.
Aims:
To raise participants knowledge and understanding of:
- The definitions of Child Exploitation and Harms Outside the Home;
- The prevalence of Child Exploitation in Nottinghamshire;
- The different models of Grooming;
- The importance of Consent;
- The impact of Child Exploitation on children;
- The Indicators and Vulnerabilities of Child Exploitation;
- Contextual safeguarding and places of risk;
- Working with Families experiencing Child Exploitation;
- Professional responses and Appropriate Language.
Target audience:
For all practitioners who work directly with children and young people who may be experiencing or be at risk of child exploitation.
